Gracious hospitality and service. Renaissance charm and beauty. Absolutely grand huge room overlooking the garden. Hotel located along the River with easy access to museums, fine dining and shopping. Florence at it's very best.
Great hotel! Walking distance from the train staition and the Duomo & Ufizzi. The staff was very good, and the view over the river Arno even better.
The hotel I really charming and has great character. The view from my hotel room (32) was fabulous and the hotel wasn't in the heart of the city, so it was quiet. You did have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the center of town but I didn't mind it...there is also bus stops not far from the hotel. For Europe this place was good value for money!
I am from Canada and our standard of a 4 star versus the ones in Europe must be different. I wouldn't categorize this place as 4 star accommodation but a strong 3 star Charming Hotel. It does need some renovation and maybe adding some variety in the breakfast.
From the moment I stepped onto the curb, the hotel staff were extremely helpful, the room was perfect and it exceeded all my expectations
The hotel was in an excellent location, across the street from the Arno River. Near fine restaruants and shopping. Close to the Dumo, Piti Place and other great sights.
The hotel has old world charm and is classic in every sense.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful and most gracious about giving my car a boost when my battery was dead. I especially liked the free parking availability, the location close to shops and attractions, and the fact that most everyone understood English well.
Not enough water pressure for a nice soothing shower after a day of walking.
Quiet location by the River, not too far to town centre, old traditional building with very nice 19th century furniture!
Facilities a bit outdated, but still overall a nice place to stay
We loved this hotel! Very classic with beautiful architecture, furtnishings and our view of the river Arno was something special Hotel staff was professonal and so helpful. Left the day of a train strike and the concierge, Juliani. was a tremendous help in getting us to our next destination & held our rooms in case we didn't get on the train. Staff in the dining room was attentive and excellent. Our 'continental breakfast' here was a very nice variety along with prepared eggs started day off right. Very spacious room. Huge bathroom. We are American and missed our ice, but they delivered it to our room on request. Lovely rooftop view of the city. The garden in the back and sitting rooms were a nice place to relax.
We had a separate sitting room. The furniture was so appropriate for the decor, but was a little worn. We were three bridges from the Ponte Vecchio - maybe 5-10 minute walk. We enjoyed the walk & view, but to some it might seem a little distance though most hotels seemed to be in this area..
It's location and it had its own car park
Hotel Principe is a former private residence that has maintained a welcoming "homey" feeling. The furnishings are lovely and in keeping with the period of the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful and guests could even request an omelet! I loved parking our car in the garden (at no extra fee) and I especially loved our room directly overlooking the Arno River, but away from all the hectic crowds in the main piazzas. The two gentlemen at the reception desk were truly "gentle men," complete with 3 piece suits and tie. They were attentive without being unctuous. I loved being addressed as "Madame."
I liked everything about it. The hotel is charming, The location is perfect. The service is highly personalized, the price very reasonable. The manager and staff are attentive, very polite and warm. I recommend in highly.
The Hotel Principe was delightful. The staff and management made every accommodation to make our stay absolutely perfect. The balconies facing the Arno are breathtaking; the staff serve fresh espresso each morning; and the concierge secured dinner reservations for us each day. For the price, you will not find a better hotel or location in Florence--I am confident. The Principe sits right near pricey digs like the St. Regis and Westin Excelsior, offering an excellent location but a much more authentic and boutique feel. I was surprised and impressed and would highly recommend this hotel. Did I mention they bring fresh flowers each day?
The Hotel is a very romantic place. Nice and old fashioned style - every second you can imagine that Sir Peter Ustinov is coming around the corner! On top of the Roof you have an overwhelming view across the Arno River and the City! It is placed pretty near by the Rialto Bridge but very quiet. The Hotel personal is very kind an professional and the price is really cheap for all this.
Hotel principe has a great location, it is right on the cannal and to all the main sites in Florence. The hotel has a parking lot, nice staff and great view. The hotel design is Italian old fashion.
When i wanted to dry my hair, the blow dryer caused a blackout in the room that took a few minutes to repair and i couldnt use it my entire stay. The voltage of the outlets are lower than 200v
